Our Story
How it all started
Raised in the western desert of the US. Even as a young child Audrey West has always had a deep passion, and curiosity for the Native American culture. It felt close to her heart, It seemed to be a part of something she had deep in her soul, a memory of another life long ago. It is a familiar dream, of long ago in another life. A connection that was familiar but somehow far away and lost to her. She sees in the eyes of so many faces a story of great sadness, loss, and great pain. That must always be remembered and told, for these faces are etched in the land, the water, and the sky that we live in today. Memories that should never be forgotten for this is their country, they are the first people of this country. The TRUE FACES of this land. She wants them to be seen as they were at a time of great sadness and loss of their people. It is our obligation to remember these faces the way they were before they had to leave who they truly were behind. To become something they could never be.
Forced to be something that was never a part of who they were.
She hopes that everyone will see and feel what she has always known, when she looks into their eye’s. Immense pride, great strength, unwavering courage and above all tremendous sadness. Of a people who once stood proud and strong.
This country is of them. Their stories, and teachings should never be forgotten, the native American culture is a culture that should be etched in this land forever.
“What was done to the Native Americans was inevitable: But how it was done was unconscionable. ”
Philosophy
People who are of the land understand, that they do not own anything. It is to be used and respected, always knowing that it is to be given back the way it was found. For we are not any better than the smallest creature. For They to share this land, nor do we deserve more than they.
The earth owes us nothing! We earn respect, loyalty, and trust by living within certain laws that nature governs.
By knowing these laws we will become the land once again.
